Celtic left-back ‘target’ Romain Perraud is set to sign for French side Brest, according to reports.
The 21-year-old, tipped as a potential replacement for Kieran Tierney should he move to Arsenal, is set to sign a four-year deal according to French publication Le Telegramme.
Perraud had made it clear he wanted to leave OCG Nice, saying he wanted “a new challenge” as he hit out at the club in a strongly worded statement.
Speaking in June, he said: “I am under contract. I respect people, but this season, I did not receive a single call from then when was I performing very well.
“I am not even speaking about a contract extension offer, just to have a catch-up with me.
“This is a difficult situation and I hope that it will decant very quickly.
“I have no news from the current representatives but Nice have missed the boat with me. I want a new challenge.”
Celtic’s interest appeared to wane after signing Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo but, with Arsenal hanging about like a bad smell, another left back may be required in the not too distant future.
