Karamoko Dembele has decided to play for England according to reports.
The 16-year-old, who is eligible to play for Scotland, England or the Ivory Coast, where his parents are from, has opted for the Three Lions, reports the Sun.
Dembele, who has played for both Scotland and England’s Under-16s and Under-17s, will now play in the England youth set-up.
The talented teen was born in London but his family moved to Scotland when he was as a child.
Dembele’s decision will disappoint Scotland fans, although it’s not irreversible until he lands a full international cap.
The teenager made his first-team debut against Hearts at the end of last season and Celtic fans loved what they saw.
Dembele was rewarded for that impressive runout with a place on the bench for the Scottish Cup final against the Gorgie outfit.
Arsenal, PSG, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs reported to be keeping tabs on the player, who is contracted to Celtic until 2021.
Having been sidelined through injury, Dembele will now be hoping for further opportunities to shine in the first-team this season.
