Arsenal have decided to abandon their attempts to sign Celtic’s Kieran Tierney after a third bid was rejected, according to reports.
The London club have made a pitiful spectacle of themselves all summer, putting in bids that were always going to be refused.
Aside from their derisory offers to Celtic, the Gunners have gone in ridiculously low elsewhere, not least with their bid for Wilfried Zaha, which was around £50m short of Crystal Palace’s valuation.
Now the Daily Record is reporting that Arsenal have decided to look elsewhere.
Tierney, they say, was interested, but was never going to push for a move away from Parkhead.
It would appear that Arsenal’s ploy to unsettle the player in the hope he’d try to force a move has failed.
Hopefully, that’s the end of it now and Celtic and Tierney can look forward to a momentous season.
