Two Celtic fans have been stabbed in Rome by masked Lazio thugs.
The fans had reportedly been drinking outside the Flann O’Brien pub in the city when they were stabbed in the leg.
The BBC reports that their injuries are understood not to be life-threatening after they were stabbed in the leg.
Photos show blood-stained bandages at the scene of the attack.
Video footage from inside one pub in Rome shows windows being smashed as it is targeted by a mob of masked attackers.
Kevin Maguire posted a tweet saying Celtic fans had been ‘minding their own business’ when the Baccanale pub was attacked.
He praised the staff as being ‘class’ as they helped keep the fans inside the pub safe.
He also said the police had ‘helped massively’ in the aftermath of the attack, getting fans safely into taxis.
Posting on Twitter, he said that the attack came out of nowhere.
He said: “Such a normal bar, not even a Celtic hint about it. No singing, no colours. Took us a by complete surprise. Staff acted so quickly and we are all ok”
